Jessica began her post-secondary education at St. Thomas University while teaching preschool and school age children part-time between her classes. She quickly realized that her true passion was in early childhood development. She began working full-time as an educator and within the year she had enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Atlantic Business College. Over the past few years, Jessica has attended multiple workshops for early childhood development and earned her certificate for the ECCENB Early Learning and Childcare Curriculum Framework of New Brunswick.

One of the best parts of her job is bringing the learning outside of the classroom setting and letting children explore their natural world unrestricted. Whether it’s puddle jumping, nature walks, fishing, etc., the learning opportunities for a young child are endless and always rewarding!

During her down time, Jessica enjoys soaking up the sun while canoeing, vacationing at the cottage, off-roading, or just curling up with a good book.

“Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, tadpoles, frogs, acorns, wild strawberries, trees to climb, brooks to wade, animals to pet, pine cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets; any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of his/her education.” -Luther Burbank
